Tabriz rugs are knotted from cork wool. Cork wool is particularly high-quality wool from the first shearing of the lambs and is only taken from the neck area, where the sheared wool is particularly soft and at the same time robust - very greasy . Cork wool hardly wears out and thus gives the Tabriz extreme longevity.
